The event was structured as a think tank which was joined by approximately 70 people. The discussion was driven by a number of key speakers, namely:

  • Martin Ford, Director of Geospatial standards for Europe (GiStandards Ltd) (holding secretariat of CEN TC 287)
  • Cameron Easton, Honorary Lecturer at University of Glasgow, Expert at GiStandards and former member of Scottish Executive.
  • Cesare Furlanello, Head of Research Unit at FBK, Italy
  • Pietro Elisei, Vice President of ISOCARP – The International Society of City and Regional Planners, President of Urbasofia and coordinator of STATUS
  • John Herring, Architect (Oracle Corporation), Convener of HMMG at (ISO/TC211), Convener Working group 9 – Information management (ISO TC 211), Liaison Representative for OGC (CEN 287)
  • Bart De Lathouwer, Director of interoperability programs (Open Geospatial Consortium Europe)
  • Bruce Gittings, Director, GIS Programmes at University of Edinburgh, Vice Chairman (Royal Scottish Geographical Society), Vice Chairman and Member of the Executive Committee (Association for Geographic Information – AGI) in Scotland.
  • Robin Walker, Editor GIS Professional & Director RSW Geomatics
