Partner description
The Emergency County Hospital Alba Iulia is the most complex health care unit in Alba County, being created in 1973. It is a public institution, having a singular management and administration.
The hospital provides specialized care for over 66.000 inhabitants of the Municipality of Alba Iulia, and for over 373.000 inhabitants in Alba County, acting as well as an emergency Hospital.
The Hospital covers over 25 medical specialties and includes departments such as: Pediatrics, Oncology, Cardiology, Surgery, Gastroenterology, Nephrology Department, Division of Neonatology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ophthalmology, ENT Section, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, Urology, Neurosurgery
The Hospital spreads its activity in 10 individual locations.
In 2012 the hospital was awarded ISO 9001: 2008 certification for business activities of health care, dental care and hospital care, and other activities relating to human health.
Experience in related projects
Through a project that started at the end of 2012, the hospital is committed to implementing an integrated e-Health information system, aiming at providing electronic medical services for its patients and improving internal processes’ efficiency.
Brief description of the role within the project
The Emergency County Hospital Alba Iulia will be host of one of the pilot. Its contributions to the project, besides the obvious involvement in WP5 – Pilot operational phase, lies in the preparatory part where it will contribute to the definition of the use cases and specifications. Furthermore their involvement is also planned in WP4 ensuring participation to training activities and supporting the pilot deployment and preparation.
Further contribution is expected in terms of dissemination of results with an active role being played for the involvement of the local community (including citizens) through targeted awareness actions.
