Most notably i-locate will target at ensuring commercial exploitation of the project. With regard to this we must note that, as thoroughly presented in the following section, i-locate responds to strong market needs in various domains (e.g. health, asset management, retail etc.). The very significant presence of SMEs (13 partners) within the consortium will be reflected by a very significant business exploitation of the results. This will be further amplified by the strong liaison with the smeSpire network (Support Action) of 300+ geo-ICT SMEs in Europe that will be involved in the activities of i-locate through its coordinator (EPSIT).

i-locate, facilitates the creation of innovative business through hybrid indoor and outdoor location based services and asset tracking technologies. Outdoor localization will extend existing GNSS solution to support GALILEO.

Additionally to open data regarding indoor publicly accessible spaces, i-locate will make use of other open data sources (e.g. regarding information of relevance for public health scenario) that can be extremely important to increase efficiency of the public health sector or to improve preparedness in case of emergencies.
